Hikvision DeepinView Cameras Deliver Deep Learning Technology for Proactive Security Responses

Hikvision’s DeepinView cameras give users the ability for immediate, proactive security for their businesses. These surveillance cameras employ Deep Learning technology along with video analytics to deliver alerts for key events, allowing actionable security responses as well as operational insights.

If incidents or unusual activities occur around your business or property, DeepinView cameras send out alerts automatically. Using the 6-in-1 deep learning algorithm, users can do a filtered search of recorded video to locate critical information to take immediate action.

Attribute search, a feature of DeepinView cameras, simplifies video search for a specific person based on the physical descriptions. This includes searching by:

  • Color of clothing with the ability to search by top color and pants color
  • Whether eyeglasses, a mask, and/or a hat is worn
  • People carrying items such as a shopping bag or backpack

This search option provides speed and flexibility when conducting searches across multiple platforms. Attribute search also includes unlimited camera channels for analytics, extensive history search, export abilities on attributes captured, and permission control on the search scope. Benefits of using attribute search are a reduction in incident time and decreased cost for resolving investigations.

Deep Learning technology also provides multi-target detection, false alarm reduction, and area density control. Multi-target detection can efficiently detect and classify target objects like people, vehicles, and license plates. Detection bonding boxes, which exclude the range of a human shadow, allow monitoring parameters to be set for specific areas to trigger alarms. Alarms can be calibrated for human only, vehicle only, or human and vehicle. This reduces false alarm rates by more than 95 percent. The area density control feature sends a threshold alarm if the number of people in an area exceed occupancy levels. This feature is useful to comply with social distancing and other security requirements.

DeepinView cameras are available in several indoor and outdoor models with either 4 MP or 12 MP resolution. LightFighter and DarkFighter technology enhance the camera with a wide dynamic range (140 dB) and a 1/1.8-inch advanced sensor for clear, detailed images in strong backlight conditions and during the night.

Feature Article – Using innovation to enhance the shopping experience

The way people shop has been changing ever since the advent of online shopping. Traditional ‘bricks and mortar’ shops have struggled – with some failing and crashing out of the high street. But the survivors are now turning to innovation to help them compete. According to magazine AdWeek, 70 percent of businesses say that omni-channel strategies are important, very important, or critical to their success. One industry that’s looking closely at how technology can bring a new channel of advertising and revenue to them is retail, with a focus on customer experience. A good example of that is the use of camera technology to show people how they look in certain clothes, which is revolutionizing the clothing retail industry.

Maximizing relationships
In a world where the battle for attention happens constantly all around us, new innovative ways of capturing those vital moments where a prospect is looking at your brand are emerging. One of these is precision marketing – the art of maximizing the relationship you have with your existing customers. According to Inc. Magazine, it is five to 10 times more expensive to find a new customer than to sell to an existing one. More traditional methods of doing this have been used by companies for a while now – like loyalty schemes.

One trend on the high street is delivering experiential shopping to customers – for example, hosting events in stores, entertaining people and providing much more of a personal service. These are all designed to give people an experience that they cannot get online, so bringing their spending power back to the high street. In some cases, the experiences are merged, with shoppers visiting a store to see what’s possible, and try out the products, but actually when they buy, it’s through the online store. So, we have entered an era when people could come out of a store and feel satisfied, even when they don’t have the product with them!

There is a secondary benefits to these methods too – through these activities you can find out a lot more about your customers – their shopping habits, for example, and popular items. This all feeds into the Holy Grail of effective marketing – understanding your customers and their decisions.

Innovation in-store
Marketeers’ quest has now turned to technology to bring exciting new experiences to the shop floor, and at the front of the queue for these changes is the fashion industry. One of these innovative methods uses a camera (for example Hikvision’s DeepinView Facial Recognition Camera) to capture a shopper’s gender and age to recommend suitable products, giving them an immersive experience.

Software can also recommend items – either as replacement, or even to complement, which increases the sale value. The DeepinView camera is armed with Deep Learning technology, which powers the smart element of the solution.  Although the system does not keep records of those it scans, and so cannot identify them, it can detect how old they are and their gender using facial recognition. It can also be used to create a VIP customer scheme (with explicit permission from the customer) so that when the camera recognizes the customer entering the store, the sales attendants are alerted, with information about the customer. This means they can immediately approach them with a much more personalized service. This can really help shoppers and goes some way to make them feel special, understood and catered to individually.

With touch-screen capabilities, the signage can also be used to help shoppers to find the right products, by searching and navigating through available products.

All of this adds an element of fun into the experience, giving shoppers a positive feeling about the brand and increasing the likelihood that they will return and even share their experience with others.

Hikvision’s solution for retailers is made up of its leading DeepinView Facial Recognition camera to detect characteristics and a Floor-standing monitor to show products and provide interaction.

Take Advantage of Our HeatPro Thermal Camera Series for Fire Detection and Beyond

Proactive protection of employees, warehouses, and products is essential for businesses to stay safe. Hikvision’s HeatPro Thermal Camera Series makes indoor fire protection and prevention simple. Common areas of concern are storage or packing areas and dispatch centers. Our HeatPro cameras come with advanced features like 24 hour bi-spectrum live views, temperature and smoke detection, and accurate perimeter defense making these the perfect professional solution.

The HeatPro camera series suits a wide range of settings from preventing break-ins to detecting fire risks. When fire or smoke is detected, instant alerts are sent to the user’s PC or mobile application with real-time images you can see before you arrive at the location. Within the fire detection configuration, users have the flexibility to adjust the alarm temperature threshold. Only when the cameras detect temperatures above the threshold will users get a notification. For break-in and exterior protection, HeatPro cameras also feature automated strobe light and audible alerts as well as false alarm reduction due to human/vehicle classification.

Other features of the HeatPro Thermal Camera Series include:

  • 360-degree camera rotation for a wide field of view
  • 4 MP HD Optical channels
  • On-screen real-time temperature information
  • Multiple configurable temperature anomaly rules

Hikvision conducted a series of tests with a HeatPro Thermal Series camera – the thermal speed dome – to see how quickly a fire could be detected. In the test, both the temperature measurement function and the smoke detection function were assessed. After a fire started, the pre-set temperature for detection of 176 degrees caused a notification to be sent. As the temperature quickly rose, the alarm went off. When smoke was detected, the alarm also sounded and alerted the user. These tests are essential in providing reliable technology to customers as well as a reminder of how quickly a fire can grow and begin to cause damage in a short amount of time. Watch the video of the test here.

Ideal applications for the HeatPro series are warehouses, manufacturing facilities, parking areas, external surroundings, and storage areas. Learn more about our HeatPro Thermal Camera Series on our website today.

Hikvision Introduces Video & Audio Convergence Solution Featuring Real-time Deterrent

Hikvision, the world’s leading provider of innovative security products and solutions, has introduced its Video & Audio Convergence Solution to the market, featuring an innovative real-time intrusion deterrent feature.

With Hikvision’s new Video & Audio Convergence Solution, IP speakers now can be linked with cameras, access control systems, and alarm devices. When the CCTV system automatically detects an intrusion or if the alarm system is activated, IP speakers can immediately play programmed audio warnings to drive away would-be intruders. The audio message acts as a deterrent to possible intrusion actions as they happen. Loss and damage can be prevented, and footage of the event gets recorded for investigation and evidence collection.

Along with imported audio warnings, operators can also speak via the IP speakers to give live warnings when notified of an intrusion. Efficient security operations and digital transformation are further supported by alarm video which can pop up automatically.

Scheduled audio messaging and public information broadcasting are two more practical functions made possible by Hikvision’s Video & Audio Convergence Solution. IP speakers can play recorded audio recordings according to a schedule, and operators can use the audio system to broadcast public information as needed to audiences as well.

Frank Zhang, General Manager of the International Product Marketing Department at Hikvision says, “We are excited to introduce our innovative Video & Audio Convergence Solution to the market. With the linkage between video and audio, our solution will empower security systems with cautionary and immediate processing abilities. We believe convergence will be a new trend in the near-future for the security industry.”

With its valuable functionality, Hikvision Video & Audio Convergence can be applied across a wide range of scenarios and applications – including perimeter security, petrol stations, metro and railway stations, office buildings, and much more. Continue reading for more details on various applications.

Perimeter Security
In luxury homes equipped with outdoor CCTV cameras, trespassers will be recorded by security cameras and NVRs, but no immediate deterrent actions can be taken.

Now with the Hikvision Video & Audio Convergence Solution, audio warnings can be automatically triggered to deter intruders, helping to prevent loss of property or more serious incidents.

Petrol Stations
Petrol stations are vulnerable to intrusions during non-business hours and damage to petrol storage facilities can cause disasters. Currently, with CCTV systems alone, no immediate action can be taken when an intrusion occurs. But the Hikvision Video & Audio Convergence Solution now provides an intelligent detection function, alarm triggering, and audio warnings.

At petrol stations with self-payment systems but no outside service staff, the Hikvision Video & Audio Convergence Solution enables operators to speak to customers remotely via the IP speakers. They can help customers and prevent security incidents without putting themselves in danger. And in emergency situations, the audio system can be used to broadcast critical information to staff and customers.

Metro and Railway Stations
Platforms are dangerous during peak hours when passengers cross warning lines and move too close to the edge. The Hikvision Video & Audio Convergence Solution helps monitor people flow and can identify when passengers cross warning lines. Staff can use the solution to broadcast live audio warnings and train schedule information whenever it’s needed.

Office Buildings
CCTV and access control systems are commonly used in office buildings. However, when an intrusion or security anomaly has been detected, operators rely on sending on-site guards to check the situation. Efficiency is low and guards often arrive too late to prevent an incident.
In such a case, Hikvision’s Video & Audio Convergence Solution can send an immediate audio warning to deter an intrusion, as well as build video and audio linkage for operators to check remotely via live view.

Similarly, during emergency situations, security operators can use the audio system to broadcast information to people inside a building.BUY NOW
