Tiandy High integration and integration: K200 does “subtraction” for smart campus

Founded in 1941, Guizhou Normal University is located in Guiyang City, Guizhou Province. It was jointly established by the Ministry of Education and Guizhou Province. It is a provincial key university with a comprehensive discipline layout featuring teacher education.

In order to meet the needs of campus information security management and control, Tiandi Weiye designed an overall solution for Guizhou Normal University. Taking the Academy of Fine Arts as a model, it built a campus security management platform supported by K200 all-in-one computer.

Tiandi Weiye has deployed more than 100 front-end equipment such as cameras and hemispheres in the corridors, classrooms, and main roads of the college to realize campus security control.

Install face cameras and bayonet cameras at important entrances and exits, and use the K200 all-in-one machine at the back end to receive face pictures and vehicle pictures, and manage the entry and exit records of people and vehicles.

The K200 all-in-one machine can also meet the audio and video storage needs of schools. Compared with NVRs at the same price, the K200 can access more front-end points, and the large storage space of 80T can better meet the storage needs. In addition, the K200 can also be connected to an external NVR to achieve longer recording storage.

In the back-end management, platform management can be achieved without an additional PC. The K200 all-in-one machine has its own management platform, which can not only combine video, decode and upload it to the wall, but also realize platform operation and maintenance, and display the number of cameras online and the number of alarms in real time.

        Convenient networking and economical price

In this construction, due to the tight schedule and heavy tasks, Tiandi Weiye chose the K200 de-storage and management integrated machine as the back-end support, eliminating the complicated back-end equipment in the traditional solution, and one machine can realize the functions of decoding, storage and management. The back-end networking only needs three wires, which greatly improves the debugging efficiency and makes it easier to operate and use.

Because of high integration and integration, K200 also makes the whole solution lower in cost and highly competitive in the market.

Hikvision MinMoe Touch-Free Face Recognition Terminals win Security Hardware Product Innovation of the Year at Security and Fire Excellence Awards 2020

26th November 2020 – Hikvision has won the Security Hardware Product Innovation of the Year award for its MinMoe Touch-Free Face Recognition Terminals at the 2020 Security and Fire Excellence Awards. The Awards were presented in a virtual ceremony online on Wednesday November 25, hosted by Catchphrase’s Stephen Mulhern.

The MinMoe terminals (DS-K1T607 series and DS-K1T671 series) are powered by deep learning technology, which provides 99%-plus face recognition accuracy and access times of just 0.2 seconds/person. Harnessing Hikvision’s video security expertise, the terminals are equipped with a 2MP camera capable of capturing facial images in all lighting conditions, and dual lenses for anti-spoofing. The system also offers QR code access and swipe card or token verification, as well as a video intercom function for visitors.

On top of its facial recognition-based access control capability, the terminals use thermographic technology to provide a touch-free temperature screening solution. Skin-surface temperature screening results are accurate to ± 0.5°C. In addition, the terminals can be configured for mask detection, prompting users to wear a face covering if required and denying access if necessary. Temperature screening is still effective for those wearing masks. The MinMoe terminals are also available as Face Recognition Modules for use with turnstile systems.

Judges said the MinMoe is “an excellent product that offers a range of efficiencies to end users”.

As part of its winning submission for the Security and Fire Excellence Awards, Hikvision detailed the case of Royal Hospital Chelsea, home of the iconic army veteran Chelsea Pensioners. Here, MinMoe terminals were installed for touch free access, providing entry to Pensioners’ berths and to the Royal Hospital Infirmary. There is no requirement for keys, tokens, or access swipe cards to be carried by residents, or for them to remember entry codes or PINs.

Justin Hollis, Hikvision UK & Ireland Marketing Director, said the company was thrilled that its MinMoe Terminals had won the Security Hardware Product Innovation of the Year award.

“We are absolutely delighted and grateful to have been recognised by the Security and Fire Excellence Awards judges for this outstanding product,” he said. “The MinMoe terminals really reflect our intention to bring technologically advanced, genuinely effective user-friendly solutions to the market, and this prestigious award is a great acknowledgement of the work of our R&D and product development teams.”

*Hikvision’s temperature screening products are designed for the detection of skin-surface temperatures so as to achieve rapid preliminary screening in public areas. Actual core body temperatures should be further confirmed using clinical measurement devices. Under any circumstances, it is highly recommended to use Hikvision’s temperature screening products in accordance with local laws and regulations.

Hikvision launches new generation of AcuSense products

atest deep learning algorithm boosts products’ false alarm reduction capability to 98% accuracy

11 February 2020 – Hikvision, the world’s leading provider of innovative security products and solutions, announces the launch of a new generation of its signature AcuSense products, with significant updates.

“Hikvision AcuSense products were introduced in 2018, with the idea of making intelligent alarms and services available to small businesses and residential customers for the first time,” says Frank Zhang, President of International Product and Solution Center at Hikvision. “In a nutshell, AcuSense technology enables security personnel to focus on human and vehicle events rather than insignificant objects, so they can act more efficiently which helps save time and costs, while end users can get full control of their security system anytime, from anywhere.”

Improved alarm accuracy

The latest Hikvision AcuSense devices are engineered with an upgraded deep learning algorithm, which analyzes live video streams and labels them as “human,” “vehicle,” or “other events.” Those labeled as human and vehicle will trigger alarms for security staff, while other events such as rain drops, animals, or the movement of foliage, for example, will be drastically disregarded. The result is a striking reduction in false alarms – now with an accuracy approaching 98%. In this way, security personnel can focus on genuine security issues and take action. Additionally, related videos are automatically sorted by categories for easier search.

Enhanced motion detection with human / vehicle classification

Customers familiar with Motion Detection will appreciate the capabilities of AcuSense technology as well. Taking users’ habits into full consideration, Hikvision designed AcuSense products to integrate human and vehicle classifications with motion detection. More specifically, when motion is detected, the system analyzes whether or not it is associated with a human or a vehicle, and whether an alarm should be triggered. So, when users enable the motion detection function, they can enjoy the same level of alarm accuracy afforded by Hikvision’s AcuSense technology.

Flashing light and two-way voice conversation

When real-time deterrence is needed, Hikvision also offers camera models with a flashing light and auditory warning. As soon as an alarm is triggered, the built-in light flashes. Simultaneously, security personnel can communicate with the person who triggered the alarm to confirm their authorization, thanks to the built-in speaker and microphone in the camera. Of note, the latest AcuSense cameras even support customized audio tracks, which can be pre-recorded to suit various environments.

Better performance in low-light environments

The latest AcuSense camera lenses are equipped with an aperture reaching up to F1.4. This technology allows more light to enter the lens, for optimized image brightness, and better performance in low-light environments.

Larger detection area

Compared with previous AcuSense cameras, this new generation extends target classification distances from 10, 15, or 22 meters to 20, 25, or 30 meters, depending on the model.

Customers can choose from 2 MP, 4 MP, or 4K resolutions, as well as dome, turret and bullet housings to suit their specific installation requirements.

Hikvision Coronavirus or Computer Virus: Hikvision Senior Director of Cybersecurity on Phishing Hacks and Malware, and Tips to Avoid Them

In this blog, Hikvision Senior Director of Cybersecurity Chuck Davis discusses phishing hacks and malware related to the coronavirus, and tips to avoid them.

As the COVID-19 coronavirus becomes a global concern, cybercriminals are leveraging this tragedy to spread their own kind of virus and digital attacks to prey on the fears of people around the world.

What is Happening?
Attackers are using phishing campaigns to target businesses and individuals. One example, reported by BleepingComputer, shows how  scammers created a phishing email with World Health Organization (WHO) logos in an effort to trick recipients into clicking a link that supposedly will give them online training but in fact, asks them to create an account on their imposter site. When the person “creates an account” the scammers now have an email address and a password that they can use to try and log into Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Gmail, Office365 and any other site they can think of. They do this because people tend to reuse passwords across multiple accounts. This is known as a credential stuffing attack.

The WHO is not the only organization that is being spoofed. Last week, researchers at cybersecurity company, COFENSE reported the following phishing campaign that appears to be from the CDC. The email subject, “COVID-19 – Now Airborne, Increased Community Transmission” creates a sense of fear and urgency. The body of the email states that, “…three new cases have been confirmed around your area today” and provides a link to the CDC website for more information.

If someone clicks on that link (and many will) it redirects the victim to an Outlook-themed landing page that is hosted by the attacker. When the victim enters their Microsoft credentials, the page redirects the victim to the actual CDC site so the victim is unaware that they just gave away their login credentials to the attacker.

However, not all attackers are phishing for your login credentials. Some of them want to access your computer.

Last week, Threatpost reported that one malware campaign was using a COVID-19-themed phishing attacks to trick victims into installing malware. The attackers sent a phishing email with a PDF attachment that offers tips on coronavirus safety. When the pdf file is opened, named “CoronaVirusSafetyMeasures_pdf,” it installs a remote access Trojan (RAT) which gives the attacker full remote access to the victim’s computer without the victim knowing it.

Earlier this week, cybersecurity reporter Graham Cluley wrote about security researchers at Malwarebytes who have found malicious code in a website that, “appears to have copied the look-and-feel of a legitimate Coronavirus map from Johns Hopkins University.” The malicious code skims the victim’s computer for passwords and payment card details.

Finally, Bleeping Computer reported that researchers from MalwareHunterTeam, “found a three-page Coronavirus-themed Microsoft Office document containing malicious macros, pretending to be from the Center for Public Health of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, and designed to drop a backdoor malware with clipboard stealing, keylogging, and screenshot capabilities.” The picture below shows the malicious document and the malicious macros that are embedded in that document.

What Can You Do?
These phishing attacks are no different than the ones you get in your inbox regularly. They are just preying on a timely circumstance.

  1. Remember that your Inbox is a dangerous place. It is the easiest and most effective way for an attacker to get past your home or company’s firewall and network security.
  2. Understand basic and advanced phishing attacks by reading this Hikvision blog on the subject.
  3. Read the Federal Trade Commission’s tips on Identifying and reporting COVID-19 scams
  4. Read the World Health Organization’s tips on identifying and reporting scams.
  5. The United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT) recommends the following ways to minimize your chances of becoming a victim of phishing attacks:
  • Filter spam
  • Don’t trust unsolicited email
  • Treat email attachments with caution
  • Don’t click links in email messages
  • Install antivirus software and keep it up to date
  • Install a personal firewall and keep it up to date
  • Configure your email client for security

Phishing is used in 90 percent of data security breaches and is the leading method that attackers use to gain access to home and company networks and systems. While you may want to donate to a charity or learn about updates on the spread of COVID-19, be sure to go to trusted websites like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization directly. Don’t get there by clicking on links in email, in order to prevent becoming a victim of phishing hacks and malware.Continue Shopping
