AcuSense August 2020 Solution

A feeling of security is a universal human need. And beyond physical, bodily security, people need to know that their environment, investments, and belongings are safe as well. Security systems are installed in homes and businesses every day to create that sense of security. Compared to conventional sensor-based alarm systems, a surveillance system that utilizes cameras has several advantages:
• The ability to watch events in real-time,
• Obtaining key data around those events, and
• Providing solid and accurate evidence for law enforcement.

Empowered by deep learning algorithms, AcuSense technologydistinguishes people and vehicles from other moving objects.AcuSense is your perfect choice for an accessible and intelligent security system!

Accurate Alarm for Humans and Vehicles

Devices recognize whether the alarm was triggered by a person, a vehicle, or another object based on the deep-learning algorithm.*As a result, you’ll get an alarm when people or vehicle intrusions are identified, depending on the event type you choose to focus on.

Conventional Surveillance products VCAs

Without the “brain” that Deep Learning provides, any insignificant movement will trigger an alarm. As a result, security personnel waste time, energy and resources responding to them.

Intrusion Alarm Triggered

Alarm Sensors

This traditional approach to perimeter protection only sends alarm signals. Without a camera for visual reference, they only create extra effort. Accuracy of sensors can also be affected by temperature changes (for example, a PIR sensor) or other sudden changes in surroundings.

How can AcuSense technology help when you want to level-up your protection for your property?

Search Targets Quickly by Type

For most security events, you will search for video clips that captured human or vehicle activities. With AcuSense technology, this gets easier.

Video Content Analyses

There are plenty of clips that are about irrelevant objects – animals, leaves, light and shadow, etc. You’ll still need to browse through all event files within a period to find the one that captures your target.

AcuSense Technology

Video clips are already sorted into “Human Files” and “Vehicle Files.” Just simply click one of these categories and use time or channel information to quickly locate the clip that you want.

Residences

Intrusion Detection and Deterrence for Home Security

Whether you choose to keep an eye on the house yourself or hire a professional service provider to look after your home, there’re two functions you will surely want to have:
Prompt Notification via Smartphone
Whether events will be taken care of by you or someone else, it’s also good to have first-hand information. You’ll get a notification on the App or via SMS when the alarm is triggered. Then check out the live video from your phone.
Light and Sound Intruder Deterrence
Knowing what the suspect looks like is important, especially for providing evidence to police. However, property losses have already occurred at that time. It would be even better if there were means that can provide on-site deterrence and prevent any loss at all. Now you can!

Network Cameras with AcuSense technology, white light and audio alarm can be set to react to intrusion events with a flashing light and customizable siren, alerting any would-be intruder that they are being monitored and have already been spotted.

Turbo DVR with AcuSense technology requires a PIR / TurboX camera for visual and audible alarm.

Factories

Accurate Trespass Alarm, 24 Hours a Day

Factories and warehouses store high-value raw materials or commodities. Security here is crucial. However, there is usually only limited manpower to perform such tasks.
Replace Security Patrols with Camera Monitoring
Using AcuSense technology can greatly improve perimeter monitoring efficiency and ensure that limited human resources can be deployed only where most needed.
Accurate Trespassing Alarm for Human Targets
Factories and warehouses mostly deal with human intrusion events, which might turn into burglary or vandalism.

The security team can set devices with AcuSense to send alerts only upon the detection of a human intrusion. Wild animals crossing the line will no longer trigger the alarm.

Hikvision introduces the latest innovation in intruder alarm systems – the AXHub

Hikvision, the world leading provider of innovative security products and solutions, has released news of the latest product range to hit its portfolio, the AXHub intruder alarm system.

Part of the Hikvision AX-Series, the brand-new wireless system stylishly caters for any residential and small commercial applications by seamlessly connecting security and video on one-platform.

“Hikvision is pioneering the one-platform revolution for security systems that enables HD video verification of events, remote control to arm and disarm the alarm, as well as the ability to switch between alarm system and video like never before,” said Jiang Feng Zhi, Head of Hikvision’s alarms division.

Video and intrusion system in one platform
This advanced synergy of technologies is delivered in a small, compact and discreet panel that delivers multi-configuration methods, full control and setup via Hik-Connect smart device application and iVMS as well as video verification through revolutionary Intruder Verification as a Service (IVaaS).

Integration is at the core of the AXHub, utilising Cloud technology to combine intrusion and video like never before.

Where other video verification methods on the market are reliant on sending low-quality static imagery to confirm events, IVaaS links previously separate video and intruder systems to one platform, providing a 7 second clip in the event of an alarm; 5 seconds pre-alarm, and 2 seconds post alarm.

To achieve this, there are two options; via the cloud, or innovatively connecting up to two cameras directly to the AXHub for on-board video verification.

This enables Hikvision’s video and intrusion systems to seamlessly deliver video footage directly to the user through Hik-Connect or iVMS, or directly to a Central Monitoring Station (CMS).

By delivering video to users or a CMS via email, smart device and desktop applications, they can switch to Full-HD live streams to verify action can be take much faster and more reliably in the event of an activation.

Hik-Connect compatibility also allows full control of the system from anywhere; enabling users to remotely arm, disarm and monitor, as well as check history and receive push notifications of any events.

“When one manufacturer provides the components for each part of the system, we don’t need to try and make things work together; we aren’t ‘integrating’ systems,” said Jiang.

He continues: “The video and intruder systems are designed to work seamlessly with each other, and this is what we have achieved in the AXHub.”

Compatible with any Hikvision video or intrusion device, this allows the ideal security solution to be fitted every time; covering every vantage point.

Award-winning intrusion technologies
The system supports up to 32 wireless inputs from a wide range that includes internal and external detectors, contacts, keyfobs, life safety sensors and much more.

The extensive wireless range of intrusion devices feature award-winning, proven and patented intrusion technologies, for complete confidence and peace of mind, with easy installation using signal strength indicators and one-push-to-learn.

The AXHub also utilises 3EasyFit, a technique to speed up initial installation, and supports voice-guided setup for configuration and operation; making the entire installation process fast and efficient. The local voice prompts will also alert the user to any events on the system, while voice calls for alarms can be configured as well.

The variety of communication pathways available with the AXHub is unmatched, offering LAN, Wi- Fi, GPRS and 3G/4G connections with on-board communication modules and connectors for a simpler and more cost-effective installation. While with multiport IP communications, the AXHub can also communicate simultaneously with multiple devices, to ensure alarm messages are sent to all that need them.

People counting for increased retail success

How counting the people who enter your mall or store can help you improve customer experiences and boost your revenues

Counting people who enter your mall or store throughout the day can help you to improve your operations in a number of ways. It becomes possible, for example, to precisely increase the number of staff during busy times to improve service on the shop floor, and to reduce staff during quieter times to increase your operating efficiency. You can also more accurately predict demand over the coming days, weeks and months and accurately plan your future activities based on right-sized staffing and inventory.

In these ways, counting people in store can help retailers optimise their strategies and maximise conversion and revenues. However, the task of accurately counting customers over an extended period of time is a difficult one, particularly as legacy camera technologies are not always up to the task.

People counting for health and safety
People counting provides valuable insights across a range of industries and use cases. It can help to ensure crowd safety in high-traffic-flow areas such as stadia, for example, as well as ensuring that the number of people entering clubs, exhibition halls and other locations does not exceed fire safety guidelines.

Historical ‘single-lens’ people-counting challenges
In the past, retailers often attempted to count people in store using single lens cameras. These often mistook people for other objects, leading to inaccurate counts and misleading information about who has visited the store and what they do there.

One major problem with single lens cameras is that they have no 3D perspective, which makes it impossible to understand how tall an object or person is. This means that all kinds of inanimate objects can be mistaken for people, from shopping carts to baby carriages. The problem can be exacerbated when there’s a change in light conditions, and even shadows have contributed to inaccurate people counts in some cases.

Getting an accurate count with dual-lens cameras
To overcome all of these challenges, forward-thinking retailers are installing next-generation dual-lens cameras in store. These record and process two images of a person concurrently, allowing a 3D image to be created. This accurately records the person’s height and shape, identifying them positively as a human being, rather than an object or shadow, for example.

Delivering even more customer value with AI and ML
The best dual-lens cameras are also equipped with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) technologies that allow cameras to ‘learn’ over time. It becomes possible, for example, to gain new insights into customer preferences based on their demographics and in-store behaviours, leading to more effective merchandising decisions.

Covering security requirements with the same smart camera
The other major benefit of smart people-counting cameras is that they can double as security protection for your mall or store. This means that you can look after your customers and your assets, and accurately count people coming into the store – all with a single investment. With only one set of cameras, you can make significant savings on installation, energy consumption, maintenance and support – while also getting the very best in surveillance and smart retail insights.

Why Hikvision for people counting and retail security?
Hikvision’s people counting cameras deliver major benefits. First, they offer extremely high accuracy, with a dual-lens configuration that provides 3D imaging to distinguish people from inanimate objects and shadows. Our cameras also incorporate Deep Learning algorithms that can be continuously trained and improved with new datasets to count people more preciously.

A proven people-counting track record
Hikvision has helped organisations in a number of industries to count and monitor people entering their facilities. To find out more about our retail capabilities, read our case study on how a mall in Haarlem in the Netherlands has implemented our dual-lens cameras to gain new insights that enhance their business strategy and management activities. New handheld thermal binocular uses two lenses to spot targets, even through darkness

Hikvision, the world leading provider of security products and solutions, has launched its Thermal & Optical Bi-spectrum Binocular (DS-2TS16) camera into a new outdoor market. This will enable outdoor enthusiasts, like hikers, birdwatchers and hunters, to be able to observe animals, even at night and in bad weather conditions. In this way their experience can be maximised, and they won’t miss opportunities to catch what they came to see.

The camera uses bi-spectrum image fusion technology to enhance object details and recognition which helps to find targets more easily. The camera produces a crystal clear image on an OLED screen with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. The optical lens also offers ultra low-light illumination, helping it to operate down to 0.001 lux.

With 640 x 512 thermal resolution and a highly sensitive thermal detector, murky dark vistas can be transformed, clearly showing detected targets up to 700m away (for the 35mm model) and 1000m away (for the 50mm model).

The binoculars are independent from any light source – with the optical and thermal technologies working together to provide the best combined image, even in fog, heavy rain snow and dusk, when animals tend to be at their most active.

A target (of about 1.7m high) can be locked between redefined lines on screen, allowing more accurate identification and location. The binoculars also provide recording, snapshot, replay and picture search functionality which allows users to quickly and easily review what they have captured.

Other features include:
– Ample storage: 32G SD card
– Wide operating temperature range: – 30 °C to 55 °C (-22 °F to 131 °F)
– Up to 7 hours battery life, and 4 additional batteries for back-up
– Protected to IP67.

“There are a lot of people who love experiencing the great outdoors, from hikers and birdwatchers to hunters and rangers, says Marcel Wiechmann, Thermal Product Manager at Hikvision. “Our binoculars combine the latest thermal technology with a high-performing optical lens in an easily portable form. This allows outdoor enthusiasts to get more out of their experience by being able to spot things they would otherwise have missed.”

HIKVISION ACUSENSE Keeps false alarms to a minimum

What Is Hikvision AcuSense Technology

As its name implies, Hikvision AcuSense Technology provides accurate sensing in security hardware. Its primary application is target classification. Empowered by deep learning algorithms, this technology distinguishes people and vehicles from other moving targets. Integrated with automatic triggering, AcuSense Technology takes alarm accuracy and search efficiency to a whole new level.

What Causes All the Frustration

The most common concerns in perimeter protection are trespassing and vehicle break-ins. Conventional perimeter security systems cannot distinguish between different types of moving objects, resulting in endless false alarms triggered by such things as raindrops, moving tree limbs, changes in lighting or shadows, small scurrying animals, and so forth.

Security personnel can spend hours handling false alarms, making it hard to focus on real threats in monitored areas. Reviewing video footage to locate an event can be another problem, as it may take hours of manual work.

Our Solution to the Problems

Hikvision AcuSense Technology classifies objects into three categories – human, vehicle, and other. The False Alarm Reduction can reduce up to 90% of the false alarm events while the Quick Target Search feature saves time by identifying footage of people or vehicles automatically, preventing staff from having to search through footage manually.

Hikvision’s latest AcuSense network camera also equipped with built-in strobe light and audio alarm, which could be triggered when a potential intruder has been accurately detected. This is designed to warn the intruder off before they attempt to breach the perimeter.

Where You Can Apply It

Hikvision AcuSense Technology can be used in a wide range of scenarios with perimeter protection needs, such as warehouses, industrial parks, parking lots, and residential areas, just to name a few.

Installers and integrators get the lowdown on the latest Hikvision developments at Spring Insight events

At Hikvision’s Spring Insight events across the UK and Ireland, security installers and systems integrators took the opportunity to get a first look at the company’s latest product releases and forthcoming technology developments. The Insight events took place in Dublin, Bristol, Manchester, Birmingham and London, and attracted more than 750 industry professionals to take part in hands-on demonstrations and meet with Hikvision technology integration and distribution partners.

Hikvision, the world’s leading supplier of innovative video surveillance products and solutions, gave installers and integrators the opportunity to learn more about updates to products including its Turbo HD, Pro, PTZ, Panoramic and Thermal series cameras as well as its Access Control and Video Intercom ranges. There were also insights into developments across Deep Learning, Radar and HikCentral software technologies as well.

In the Hikvision Turbo HD Analogue series, new PIR alarm-out cameras were shown, which work with motion detectors and Turbo HD 5 series DVRs to offer ‘double knock’ alarm confirmation. The alarm also causes a flashing white strobe light on the camera to trigger, attracting the intruder’s involuntary attention and helping to obtain a clear image of the suspect.

Insight attendees saw how entry-level Pro Series 4.0 (EasyIP) cameras are now able to utilise AcuSense technology to classify targets when reviewing alarms – allowing operators to search specifically for humans or vehicles.

In the PTZ series of cameras, the 4MP PTZ DarkFighterX model now features an improved chipset which offers twice the resolution and can operate at half the light levels of the earlier PTZ DarkFighter version. And the ‘bubble-less’ DarkFighter PTZ models offer newly-added infrared capabilities.

The latest version of the PanoVu 180 panoramic camera provides quadrupled resolution, utilising four 8MP chips to provide a stunning 32MP scene available for retrospective interrogation. The new 12 megapixel Fisheye H.265 model offers an array of easy-to-use data extraction tools, including intersection analysis and a Deep Learning-based heat map.

Hikvision now produces its own thermal imaging sensor, which allows the company to offer cost-effective thermal cameras for use in a wide variety of applications. They are ideal for short-range perimeter detection, industrial heat detection, and smoking detection applications, among others. The Bi-spectrum turret and bullet models fuse video and thermal feeds together for better image quality and more usable evidence.

Attendees were also given a look at Hikvision’s new Deep Learning-powered AI Shelf Detection software, which uses a technology called ‘planogram management’ to enable retailers to receive automatic notifications when their stocks need replenishing.

Hikvision’s next-generation Radar Series will be able to control up to four PTZ units at any one time, allowing them to simultaneously track up to 32 detected targets – and by mid-summer their effective range will double from the current range of up to 60m.

There were a host of new feature announcements for the latest version of the HikCentral software management solution, including flawless fisheye de-warping, an open SDK for third party integration, dynamic re-scaling of images, ANPR as a single camera module down from a previous minimum of 20 cameras, live face recognition, Business Intelligence reporting, and proactive health monitoring. HikCentral now incorporates an integral access control module to complement Hikvision’s Access Control range.

Hikvision UK & Ireland sales director Gary Harmer said the company’s regular Insight events allow installers and integrators to learn about new products and features as they are introduced to market.

“These events really do provide an opportunity for us to showcase our latest developments,” Harmer said. “They offer an insight to our installer and integrator partners as to what is possible by using our technologies. The emerging use of AI opens new revenue opportunities to our customers as they are able to address operational challenges, and not just security issues, within their customers’ businesses. Add the functionality available from our technology integration partners joining us at our events and you can build a very effective solution.” Harmer concluded that the Insight events also gave Hikvision the opportunity to meet with many of their customers over a short period of time and obtain invaluable feedback on everyday matters such as service, emerging trends and project opportunities.Continue Shopping

Introduction of Hikvision ColorVu

Hikvision ColorVu changed everything.

The colour of an intruder’s clothing or the getaway vehicle is often vital evidence that can transform the progress of an investigation.

Over 2 years ago, having colour recording at night was either out of the question, or you would need added hardware such as a floodlight. Even then, it would produce inaccurate & low-quality blurred imaging. This meant that intruders would often be able to get away.

Hikvision tackled this issue by advancing 2 major technological hurdles that stopped cameras from producing good quality colour imaging at night; advanced lenses, and high sensitivity sensors.

Hikvision ColorVu Cameras are purpose-built to capture reliable, detailed chromatic video images in even the darkest of settings.

Aim of this post

Now it’s been a while since Hikvision ColorVu series has been released. Through time they’ve added and refined their range of both IP & HD Coaxial cameras.

In this post, we aim to help you navigate your way around Hikvision’s ColorVu cameras and see what’s best for your system.

Hikvision ColorVu HD Coaxial cameras

Take a look at your DVR before going forward

Here we recommend looking at your DVR to see if it can support 5MP Cameras.

Best off is to find your invoice or call the place you purchased the system from.

If it was from us, please have your invoice number or account name ready before calling us if you’re unsure.

You can also look at the model number underneath the Video recorder. As a general rule of thumb with Hikvision DVRs;

if its got “HQHI” it will support no more than 4MP. Something like -> 72xx-HQHI-kx

if its got “HUHI” it will support at least 5-8MP. Something like -> 72xx-HUHI-kx

Lets start with the HD Coaxial Analogue systems.

Hikvisions 2 & 5 MP Turret ColourVu Cameras is where all the hype started! Not long after Hikvision started marketing these cameras,
demand for them shot up in the first month alone due to their significant advantage of full-colour imaging at night at such affordable prices.

If you’re looking to upgrade your system. The 2MP Hikvision ColorVu camera is the perfect camera to start with. Compatible with most DVR systems out there already; it’s a hassle free upgrade to your security system. We recommend pairing it with either the Hikvision 4 Channel IDS-7204HQHI-K1/2S or the 8 Channel IDS-7208HQHI-K1/4S Acusense DVRs depending on how many cameras you require.

Want a full frame Butter smooth video experience?

We would recommend the IDS-7204HUHI-K1/4S. It comes with AcuSense Technology, 2MP@25-30fps, and Audio over Coax technology on all channels

HIKVISION DS-2CE72DFT-PIRXOF 2MP PIR Siren Turret camera

The 2MP PIR Siren Turret camera is jam packed with features. These include:

  • Built-in Speakers; it can create noise to warn off potential intruders in the form of a siren!
  • Combine that with Blue & Red strobing LED lights and nobody will stick around to look twice!
  • And to make sure that it won’t keep creating noise and Police lighting, it has a built-in PIR Sensor to make sure you get very little false alarm detection’s. It can even be connected to an alarm system to act as an additional PIR sensor!

Introduction of the Hikvision ColorVu Bullet Cameras

After a while of these cameras flying off the shelves, next to be added to the range was the Bullet colourVu! Coming in both 2MP & 5MP, all your systems are covered!

The Bullet variant is perfect when you want the camera to be visible to potential intruders even in the day when the light is off!

Just like the Turret cameras, these come equipped with a Large Aperture, an advanced sensor, and Built-in supplemental lighting to create crisp colour video 24/7.

Mix & Match body shapes to get the tailored CCTV system for your property!

The Power over Coax range

Just recently they’ve expanded on their HD Coaxial range by offering all of the cameras above in Power over Coax (POC) form too. This has helped them expand into the POC market as installations are much tidier & easier to set up for CCTV installers & engineers.

Currently they have a over 5 cameras with POC capabilities. Most of them are 5MP; like this 5MP Turret Camera

A DVR like this 8 Channel Hikvision PoC DVR allows you to take advantage of the new POC ColorVu Hikvision Cameras.

Looking at this for yourself? We recommend checking your current DVR to see if its POC compatible. Check either with your engineer, where you purchased it from/ the invoice or the information screen in your DVRs Main Menu.
It will have a “/p” in the model number.

Check the 5MP PoC ColorVu Turret Camera, boasting great popularity among the Professional CCTV installers & engineers.

If you’re going with a PoC System, we would recommend this camera without a doubt.

Perfect for those who already have a PoC System and are looking for a video quality upgrade. You’ll get 24/7 Colour recording too.

IP Network Cameras

For the professionals or those that want even more features & performance from their CCTV systems, the IP ColorVu Cameras were a breath of relief when they were released. They offered everything from their HD Coaxial counterparts but with added features. Features like more frames a second (full frames with most Hikvision NVRs like the DS-7608NI-K2) and the ability to have lights on only when motion is detected. Of course, this created even more demand & popularity for the ColorVu series.

Now on their second generation ColorVu IP Cameras, they’ve beefed up their specifications and combined it with their latest technological push; the clever AcuSense Technology (Read more about it here).

Now you have both a camera offering full colour 24/7 and also being able to tell what caused the motion detection to be set off. Be it a human, car, pet or just the rustling of leaves; this camera will be able to tell you exactly that. And the NVR even sorts the alarms into categories of what caused the detection.

And that’s not all. The camera now comes with facial detection so that you will get clear shots of peoples faces. Someone hanging around your property often? You’ll have a clear log of when they’re around and at what time. This can be vital evidence for law enforcement.

They upgraded their cameras with better Waterproof ratings so your camera will survive no matter the weather, even in a storm.

Varying lighting levels in the video shot will also be no hassle to deal with. The camera now has a stronger WDR. Going from 120dB to 130dB, even large variances in lighting will mean you will still get information from the whole shot.

The update to Hikvision’s ColorVu IP Cameras

After a short while of being on sale, they pushed an updated version. This came with the following advantages:

• Built-in microphone – This allowed for both video & audio recording.
• Enhanced WDR – from 120dB to 130dB so varying light levels look even better
• Enhanced Waterproofing – From IP66 to IP67, the camera is now better equipped to survive outside.
• Upgraded MicroSD Slot – Now supports upto 256GB

So that covers most of the Cameras offered by ColorVu. But we’re not done yet.

A note for the commercial focused Installers & Engineers

We’ve covered almost all of the options there is.

But if you’re an Engineer looking for something more specific for that commercial job where they’re asking for a very specific type of camera, (like a motorized Varifocal camera or a vandal proof camera that needs Colour imaging 24/7), then keep reading.

Hikvision have you covered here too. Just give us a call and we’ll point you to the right camera paired with a great price.

Hikvision have you covered for the more demanding jobs too. Just call us on 020 8804 6680 so we can help you out.

Conclusion

So there you have it. Our ultimate guide to help you choose the best guide when it comes to Hikvision’s ColorVu Cameras. They’re definitely going to be sticking around.
Feel free to ask us any questions in the comment section; we’ll try to answer any and all questions as quickly as possible.

We look forward to what the newer generations will be when they come round to it, but for now; we all have some very amazing cameras to experiment with and use to protect our property and keep intruders away!
